Map: residential areas

Patriarshy Ponds area
A favoured location of both many moscovites and expatriates. High density of Western renovated Russian apartments located around - or in close proximity to - the large attractive pond.

Tverskaya-Kremlin area
Attractive residential areas behind Moscow's main thoroughfare. True urban living attracting all sectors of the community. Convenience to 'downtown' is the key here.

Tsvetnoy Boulevard area
Major route off Garden Ring to city centre often with heavy traffic congestion. Location of Sretenka housing, Moscow Circus and a growing number of upmarket clubs and restaurants.

Chistye Ponds Lubyanka area
Attractive urban planned area of the city, fashionable with experienced foreigners and "New Russians" alike. The architecture has a very [central] European feel. Great number of theatres, museums and cozy cafes make this area extremely attractive for living here.

Frunzenskaya area
The "Chelsea of Moscow", situated on a bend in the Moscow river; an area considered ecologically clean with many apartments overlooking the river and Gorky Park.

Zamoskvorechie area
An 'up-and-coming' region of the city, currently under extensive redevelopment. Many Russian banks are locating their headquarters here, and there are some exciting new residential buildings located in the area.

Arbat-Kropotkinskaya area
Desirable area close to the Kremlin with magnificent views of the river and Christ the Saviour Cathedral. Many Western renovated apartments in pre-revolutionary blocks.

Taganskaya area
An increasing number of companies are relocating to this area on the east side of the city. The area is becoming increasingly popular as a nightlife destination.

Kutuzovsky prospekt area
Major arterial road to / from city center. Kutuzovsky prospekt is bounded by 'massive' architectural apartments blocks - once home to many politburo members. The lower floors of these buildings now house many international fashion boutiques and expensive retailers.

Krasnopresnenskaya area
This region is currently undergoing a major transition principally with the development of the 'City project', Moscow's proposed financial district. Upon completion of this ambitious scheme, the area's primary advantage will be its proximity to the enormous numbers of offices that will eventually occupy the buildings.
