Can Rigall is currently operated as a boutique hotel. The original farmhouse has been reconstructed to a high standard, using original stone and iron, into a beautiful property. Authentic and full of character, with modern architectural touches, Can Rigall is a wonderful blend of tradition and modernity.
There are 11 bedrooms (24 beds) in the main house plus two small independent houses for staff with with 1 bedroom (2 beds) each. A spectacular, bright central walkway gives access to the main living room with huge fireplace and breathtaking views over the valley. Stairs lead from the living room to a mezzanine library or games area. Large glass doors from the living room lead to a huge covered dining area with more spectacular views of the valley and the Canigou mountain. There is a large fully quipped kitchen and dining area, plus a further large reception room. A large (22 m) free form pool is set into the mountain to one side of the property with surrounding terrace area and beautiful mountain views.
The property is set on 142 hectares (350 acres) which is very unusual for the location and affords exclusivity and privacy.
The estate is largely selfsufficient with low operating costs. There are extensive solar panels and wind systems for power generation as well as two large generators as back up. Water is provided by an independent drinking water supply and a separate underground water tank of 75 thousand litres is filled by rain water. A hot water source has been identified but not yet drilled. There is a vegetable garden, a fruit garden with around 20 trees of 8 different varieties, a henhouse and a Winter garden. Hunting is also possible on the estate.
An area has been created for 6-8 horses with water installed. The house has electric under floor heating in the living room and 4 of the bedrooms. There are large firelpaces in the living rooms and kitchen/dining room.
