Tal Residence is located at 39 Elisabetes Street. It is the center of the "golden mile" of Riga, and if the Old Town is the heart of the capital, then the quiet center is its soul. Elizabetes, Alberta, Antonias streets and other neighboring streets create a special cultural and artistic environment where connoisseurs of beauty can admire architectural pearls of Art Nouveau in the open-air museum in the very center of Riga. Today, the quiet center is a favorite place for residents of Riga. Fine restaurants and cozy bistros, wine shops, inns, cafes and pastry shops gather in the evenings those who know how to appreciate every moment of life. At the distance of a five-minute walk - the National Art Museum, the concert hall of the House of Congresses, the National Theater. Just a ten-minute walk away is the Old Town with the charm of narrow streets, architectural masterpieces of the XVII and XVIII centuries, art galleries, exhibitions and museums.
Mikhail Tal is not just an example of chess genius, it is an example of how every move, every decision brings thousands of new opportunities and options, thousands of new ways.
In memory of Mikhail Tal's free thinking, his brilliant life, his ability to sacrifice and not be afraid, to inspire and surprise, to find informal solutions, to act out of the ordinary, we named this house - Tal Residence. Tal Residence is a future monument of architecture of the XXI century. The modern architecture of the building with its openness and transparency allows the residents of the house to enjoy amazing views of the historic buildings of the quarter from panoramic windows and from spacious terraces. Exceptional location and architectural solutions, designer interiors of halls, underground parking, modern technologies in construction and concierge service for sophisticated customers are the unique advantages of the project.
In the facade of Tal Residence, architect Ingurds Lazdins uses chess motifs: the geometry of the bay windows resembles chess pieces of various heights, and the combination of light and dark tinted glass is an imaginary field of a chessboard. The monoliths of the columns of the first floor of the building, the powerful, soaring capitals symbolize the triumphant gesture of Tal, his raised hands holding the winner's cup.
